Static is the bane of the print finishing process so to eliminate this problem, paper joggers are used to instantly eliminate static electricity, disperse heat and remove excess toner. Two types are available:
Paper Jogging: These machines use high speed vibration and are especially good for clearing static electricity (which causes pages to stick together) as well as preparing paper into a perfectly square pile. This is especially useful when paper is going into paper folding, insertion and creasing machines etc.
Air Jogging: Machines using air in the jogging process have dramatically dropped in price in recent times. Air joggers, as well as using vibration, also blow air into the paper which offers a faster reduction of heat, removes toner residue and puts a useful layer of air between sheets. This process greatly helps the feeding of roller-fed print finishing machines such as letter folders and folder inserters.
